Have you ever blown up a baby pool? It's much harder than I thought. About half way through I thought I might pass out! After a good half hour of huffing and puffing the pool was inflated enough to hold water so we headed outside, slathered in sunscreen, with our pool toys, towels, sunglasses, hat, folding chair and other various items that one needs to sit in a puddle of water in the front yard.
At first Cole was not so enthusiastic. The pool where we take swimming lessons is heated, so I think he was a little shocked at the temperature, but he eventually got used to it.
Since most activities only hold Cole's attention for a short time, he was ready to get out pretty shortly after he got in and around this time Brien arrived home from work. Cole's next outdoor activity involved walking down to the mailbox!
He was tired after walking all the way down there, so he rode on Brien's shoulder's back.
Next he decided that he wanted to take a drive. But that lasted about 30 seconds, so he pushed the car instead.

Maryland Day!
A few weekends ago (yes, I've been a slacker on updating the blog) we took Cole to College Park for Maryland Day. It really is geared towards older kids (face painting, those inflatable jumping things etc.), but we thought it would be fun. It was packed and hot! We visited the bookstore with the intention of buying Cole a new Maryland outfit, but we couldn't stomach shelling out $30 for a onesie. We did get a really cute picture of all 3 of us in front of Cole Field House, but it was a polaroid, so you'll have to visit us to see it!
He seemed to enjoy himself and Brien was happy to get one of the 50,000 cupcakes made for the event.
